A report on a project undertaken by ecological artists Helen Mayer Harrison and Newton Harrison to imagine a future for Great Britain as sea level rises and current land uses shift in response. The Harrisons plan envisioned a series of settlements that would match the local carrying capacity of the land and the land’s ability to sequester the carbon produced by the needs and activities of each settlement. I participated in the design charrettes and presentations held in Devonshire, UK.
